Cockpit - a Bavarian company takes on the Swiss Army Knife

German software company launches colour management software like nothing we’ve seen so far.

Cockpit is a multifunctional tool for applied colour management and was developed by basICColor. We recently reviewed basICColor Input here in Spindrift, to our knowledge the first software suite to implement components of the upcoming ICC v5 specification. We were very impressed with how straightforward it was to establish a colour managed workflow for RAW data image files. Cockpit is a kind of extension to many of the existing basICColor profiling modules, a workflow solution if you like.

Karl Koch, managing director at basICColor describes the four facets of Cockpit like this: “It’s a softproofing system, a Colour Server, an Analysis Tool and a Bavarian take on the Swiss Army Knife”.
