The best proofing system ever?

GMG has a high reputation worldwide as a colour management solutions provider with a large range of products – all centred around accurate proofing. We have looked more closely at Open Color and ColorMaster as well as some other new stuff from GMG.

We at Digital Dots have tested many RIP systems over the years, but for some reason or another never tested the GMG solutions hands on before. But better late than never, and finally we tested the GMG RIP ColorProof, part of the ColorMaster suite, driving the new Epson SC-P7000V. We expected very high performance, and weren’t disappointed.

The GMG MX-technology
From the very start of modern colour management, and the introduction of the ICC standard (maintained and developed by the International Colour Consortium), GMG claimed that they had a superior colour engine called MX (where “mx” stands for matrix).
