Dear Diary,

Stayed in bed late and managed to pitch up for my toast and eggs just in time. Went back to room to sift throught the mass of data I’ve collected and to catch up on emails. Hundreds of the buggers, but mostly the team seem to have things covered. Looking at the orders, it’s clear we need more capacity for the wide format digital as well as getting into narrow.

Interested to see Ricoh getting into wide format so pootled off to take a look. They’re starting off with rebadging EFI machines, but I have the feeling something of their own is in the works. Very impressed with the output from their VC60000 digital press, supposedly for transactional work but might do for us.

After last night’s Italian, fancied something different so took a train to Cologne. Only twenty minutes or so. And guess who was at the station when I arrived? Stripper man of course! Still can’t get his name, and now it’s getting to awkward to ask. Useful conversation though about why offset and platesetting’s a good idea for now. But not convinced. The workflow, the consumables and recycling, and the customer sell, it all seems too much. But a pleasant enough evening, although just the drink as he was off elsewhere with his colleagues. A definite maybe.

Toodle Pip!

-Honey.
