We’ve come to expect great things of the Fespa team and they always deliver a great show. And yet they also manage to surprise us. 2017 was no exception on both counts. This year the surprise was the incredible diversity of technologies on display and the incredible distances we had to trek to take a look at them.

EFI, for instance, was way away from the rest of the digital printing system providers and Fujifilm was even further off. And the layout of the Hamburg Messe, more string of sausages than burger, meant that a lot of time was spent traipsing back and forth between halls. Things should be less taxing at the rather more user-friendly Messe Berlin, where Fespa 2018 takes place from the 15th to the 18th May.

Actually, the hiking was worth it because we came across some unexpected gems as well as the expected ones. Here are some of our show highlights and some thoughts on industry trends.
